Last summer my oldest daughter started looking for new vehicle…she had a car that was 7 years old and getting OLD to her…she wanted something different; she had just taken a job at Mass General Hospital and her income increased substantially- she could afford something better.
She asked her Dad to go with her on the search…after all HE knows a deal when it’s there..and HE can make a good deal better. It’s usually true- men know how to talk their way into sweet options and financing issues. My daughter just adores her father and she’s always trusted his judgment on these things.
We have four cats. They’ve been part of the family for years and are much loved. And spoiled of course.
Cats have odd quirks, any cat owner will attest to. Ours are no different. One of them has **issues** with shoes- she HATES them. She will go into attack mode when she sees a pair, or even one shoe, slipper, sandal, clog.
And a little while ago at a friends house, I made a quiche. It was good after going to the farm today and attempting to ride a …horse. (We won’t discuss that matter any further).
A major storm will affect New Hampshire tonight through Wednesday with a variety of weather….from snow to ice to rain. Winter storm warnings are in effect for all of New Hampshire overnight into Wednesday AM. Southern NH: Snow, heavy at times overnight will change to a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain by daybreak making for a slick morning commute.

One reason I hate nursing homes is the lack of activities. Sure, there’s bingo and sing a longs. For those who are mentally capable of participating. There might be some puzzles and painting and the better homes offer up an outing every week or two. But it just doesn’t come close to the level of living our elderly people once enjoyed. People who reside in nursing homes are often depressed, lonely and BORED. For better or worse, this is the accepted trade off for their safety.
When she came to live with me, I made a promise to Marion: That she would once again get out into her world, and live her life as best she can…of course, Marion is demented and didn’t understand nor remember this vow…but I did and STILL DO.
I like the guys in my life to have some…substance. Some real, raw flesh. I like guys who are beefy and muscular. A little extra weight doesn’t bother me either…I prefer a healthy look over all else.
At Christmas one of the presents I got was a new crock pot. I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t had too much time to play with it. I already own 5 pots: Four of the older models and a industrial size 8 quart behemoth. I really didn’t NEED a new one….but a good friend thought differently.
SHE is what some people are calling a vegetable. Who has less rights than an animal; who, by court order could be killed by dehydration very soon. Just like they did to Terri. Just remember this: If a dog is “put to sleep” via starvation and dehydration it is considered cruel and unusual. But when a human being is put to “sleep” like this it’s called ethical, and humane.
You definitely have ambitions and drive, but you also have integrity.
You’ll get where you want to in life, and you’ll do it the right way.
