Additions…

Posted by Raven on May 11th, 2008

Moving right along…I’m having an addition built on to my house.

Well, now it’s turned into TWO additions. The first will “house” a new bedroom/playroom for— yep— two little adorable but very busy twin boys.

Little boys you ask? Where’d I get them? They are the sons of the new man in my life. I met him last summer when I was vacay-ing it up in Maine. We hit it off right away, but then things went sour for various reasons. (I don’t care for people with money, who flaunt it as if it makes them better than us poor folk)…anyway he came back to me several months ago and he has taken a new outlook on life. We’re together and riding the best waves of our lives to date…and it can only get better now.

He owns his own business down in MA- a multi multi MULTI millions of dollars construction firm (they build properties all over the world). He’s a hands on guy too- not a suit who sits looking pretty at a desk with soft hands and well manicured nails.

He’s personally doing this addition, with some of my friends’ hubbies.

Taking out the window from one room, and the boys playroom is coming to life in the background.

The playroom area. The boys will have their own bathroom. And a door that steps out onto a deck which will lead to the backyard (where we’re going to add play equipments for them). Also, a little shed where they can store their bikes, baseball bats, skis, and all that other JUNK.

The actual loft is where the beds will be.

The boys’ deck is all done and we’ve been out there already, drinking. I’m trying to decide if I want it enclosed with screen or glass- or, making it a year round space.

At the other end of the house, my bedroom addition, er, renovation. Just the loft where my bed is going. Down below will be a small room that will have built in bookcases for ALL my books and JUNK…and a sweeeet bathroom with a door that leads out to a private deck, where the hot tub is going.

The best part of all this mess and commotion? THE VIEWs of hawt men. That’s my guy there doing the shingles- the helpers couldn’t keep up with him.

After I uploaded this picture I made him cut his hair. He hadn’t done so in MONTHS and looked sort of…raggy. But those arms make up for that.

Next day…
Now that’s better. He won’t allow any more photos and this is extremely rare for me to post such things. (I drool & otherwise get hot and bothered when I see him though.)

We’re thinking this whole addition stuff will be completed this week. There’s a rumor out there that Monday night into Tuesday we might get….SNOW!!!– but that won’t slow down this project. Once it’s all done, we’re going to celebrate the beginning of a new life together, and his family will become part of my family. He also has a developmentally disabled 3 yr old daughter. It’s different to have little kids running around my feet again, but I absolutely love it. In another post for another day I will write more about all this- but for now…I’m very excited and happy. And in love. Very much so. Of course this all keeps me off the Internets cause I have a life now. I will figure out how to find time to devote to blogs and all the emails you’all are sending me. I’m not ignoring anyone. Just….very….busy.

So HAPPY for you. The equity alone plus location…location…location makes your decision WISE! Look for ya on the Home & Garden Channel? I picked up rocks this morning in a plowed field behind our house (cul de sac road for the future) and the curb appeal from rocks and boulders (175 pounders) was at a great price: FREE!
The weight loss and exercise is still progressing positively too.

PS: How about some NY GIANTS and YANKEES caps for the workers Raven?

  7. Raven Says:

    Thanks JoeSUFF. (lol)

Mothers Day? Oh yeah it was…we went to Maine I think- I don’t remember one day from the next anymore. And its not cause of work heh.

My guy looks better not all shaggy- his hair is like mine- a knotted MESS when not kept up. Or down. Or whatever. He looks SOOO hawt with it cut though…heck he looks good no matter what.

  9. Raven Says:

LOL he taste good and yummAy thats for sure.

  10. Raven Says:

    Thanks d.

It’s been a very long time coming. Too long. It seems for once I have nothing to complain about LOL…and I really like that.

Now if I can just find time to be online more than a minute.

Hey darth- EXCELLENT about the weight loss. Keep it up….you and Mrs. Vader won’t regret it at all. You know you feel better and have more stamina; now think of the extra yrs you’ll both be around!! Home and Garden Channel? BWAHA maybe…not!!!

The boys’ room is ALL done. We went shopping for the fittings today (beds, dressers- all at thrift shops mind YOU!) <– that was a very big thing for my guy who has never done those things. We found some awesome deals and now I’m going to be busy refinishing the dressers and old fashioned TOY BOXES we bought. HE’s going to build up the old bed frames we found and a little night table as well…we’re not painting the room right off cause we like the look of exposed wood. Oh and I found some old fashioned prints to frame as well, for their wall.

LOL eergh!! I don’t know about the workers…but J (my guy) is a Boston RED SOX/NE PATRIOT/CELTICS fan. Like me, he grew up around here so…it’s only natural. He’s into foot ball more than I am so we’re gonna have alot of fun next season. We’ve already planned the tail gate parties at Foxboro. Heh.

  13. Duncan Says:

Sweet. Looking good Raven. Construction itself sucks cuz of the noise and the mess… but after its done… man it’s worth it….

And as for … er.. Mr. Raven ( ), why’d you make him cut his hair…. are you some kind of Delilah to his Samson?

  14. Duncan Says:

And Congrats also for finding, and falling in love with, what sounds like a great guy…
