What is the nearest big city to your home?

Big? As in HOW BIG? Boston big? Or New York BIG? Boston is about an hour or so from my house and NYC is about 6 hours.

Soup
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?

10. Easy. I have so many secrets of my friends and others it’s almost difficult to remember them all. I know I will go to my grave with hundreds, no, thousands of secrets. Never to be revealed.

Salad
Describe your hair (color, texture, length).

My hair? Brownish red (with a few stray grays growing in now a days); curly, knotty, thick. A tangled mess most the time; mid shoulder length now.

Main Course
What kind of driver are you? Courteous? Aggressive? Slow?

Uh. Um. I think this post speaks to my driving style. As does this:

Dessert
When was the last time you had a really bad week?

Actually not that long ago. I had several really bad ass weeks over the winter and into the early spring. I was sort of depressed. But I’m all done with it now and life is more than good.

Appetizer
What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?

Uh….Has to be Road Runner and Wile Coyote…I also liked the Bugs Bunny stuff too. I never got into the others for some reason.

Soup
Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I’d get another Goldendoodle dog for sure; I generally don’t name my pets for weeks- I like to wait for their personality to shine first and then name them. Until then I often pick a silly name just so they have something to go by.

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?

Easy. 1. ONE. I never get dressed up for ANYTHING. Period. It’s all a game, a farce and why be part of some show off time to prove to others how sharp you are? It’s jeans and a button down shirt at my BEST…even for weddings and funerals. I don’t own dresses, suits, fancy anything. Never have and never will.

Main Course
What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?

Heavy metal. Or Pink Floyd (lol) I need to stay awake AND go with a tune that releases my road rages I tend to get…

Dessert
When was the last time you bought a clock? And in which room did you put it?

A what? Clock? Shit I haven’t bought in who knows how long- 10, maybe 15 yrs ago? Who pays attention to such stupid stuff anyway?

Appetizer: Name something you would categorize as weird.
Religion. All of them. People do smart and stupid things for their religion- and it does get in the way of the human race’s ability to survive. Not the other way around as most think. (So I guess this makes me weird)

Soup: What color was the last piece of food you ate?
Multi colors..toast- semi burnt, crispy, with butter

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy being alone?
8…I love being alone and consider it my private time. I never have enough of it though.

Main Course: Fill in the blank: I will _________ vote for ___________ in _______.

NOT & Obama/Hillary & November…I love freedom way too much to give it away to them two.

Dessert: Describe your sleeping habits.
Sleep? What’s that? When I pass out it’s wherever I happen to be standing (sitting, laying). I usually fall asleep fairly fast and only need 4 or 5 hours to feel refreshed. I sleep with my window open and a fan blowing on me, all year round.

Appetizer: Name a color you find soothing.
White. Or blue. Most shades of blue, but I really like grayish blues.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting<--Like that.

Soup : Using 20 or less words, describe your first driving experience.
Down at Camp Lejuene: (my X taught me to drive) We were driving and got chased by the MPs.

Salad: What material is your favorite item of clothing made out of?
Easy. Cotton. I rarely wear anything else, save for denim.

Main Course: Who is a great singer or musician who, if they were to come to your town for a concert, you would spend the night outside waiting for tickets to see?
I have waited in line for: David Gilmore and Roger Waters. Pink Floyd before they split. There is no one else who deserves such a pilgrimage.

Dessert: What is the most frequent letter of the alphabet in your whole name (first, middle, maiden, last, etc.)?
A. Lots of a’s…5 altogether.

  • Appetizer
Make up a word and give us its definition.
  • “CONGRESS” <--A body of elected folks in the US Government, who should do the work of the American people in a bipartisan manner; who should work with the President and Judicial Branch; who should speak for the people who elected them. Congress should rise above childhood tactics and games and get the work done. **I can dream right?**

  • Soup
What is currently your favorite song?
  • What’s always my favorite song? Just about anything by Pink Floyd. The new music isn’t music, and those tunes we hear on the radio these days are not songs.

  • Salad
What’s at the top of your Christmas wish list this year?
  • I don’t have a wish list. Never have and never will; every year though I do WISH for peace, contentment and happiness for all my family and friends.

  • Main Course
Name a scent that reminds you of someone special in your life.
  • I guess I have to say, OLD SPICE- that cheap cologne one can buy anywhere. Whenever I get a whiff of it, I think of my Dad..who wore it often.

  • Dessert
Who is someone on television that you feel probably shouldn’t be, and why?
  • Um well that’s easy. Almost ALL the media. News anchors, reporters, journalists- not a one of them should be on TV spreading their own personal agenda vs. reporting the news and only the facts of the news.

  • What was the last game you purchased?
  • We like board games around my house. Yes, boring old fashioned games such as Scrabble- I bought a new set about two months ago after the old board literally tore apart (from lots of use).

  • Name something in which you don’t believe.
  • I don’t believe most conspiracy theories; I don’t think it was Bush and Co. who were “behind” 9-11; I think Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the murder of JFK and I fully believe Diana was the victim of an auto crash due to a drunk driver (of her own car)…

  • If you could choose a celebrity to be your boss, who would you pick?
  • Well since this is an apparent choice, “if you could choose” I won’t. There is not one person in Hollywood who is worthy of being my boss.

  • What was a lesson you had to learn the hard way?
  • I’ve learned the very hard way that people are very selfish and self centered in today’s world. It’s always about THEM and what they GET OUT of actions and events and activities; I’ve learned that personal sacrifice is no longer a valued trait. And it sickens me.

  • Describe your idea of the perfect relaxation room.
  • Oh easy…a small room with a simple bed; lots of windows; no carpets and drapes and other unneeded items; perhaps a few plants and a stereo for music. The simpler, the better.

  • Appetizer
What is your favorite carnival/amusement park ride?
  • Easy. Roller Coasters. All of them- the faster and scarier, the better. When I go to these places, I often ride them 5 or 6 times.

  • Soup
How do you react in uncomfortable social situations?
  • Usually I don’t fit in with stuffy useless gatherings and the like. So I either don’t go or I bail.

  • Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy discussing deep, philosophical topics?
  • 1. It’s a waste of time. And so totally boring.

  • Main Course
Did you get a flu shot this year? If not, do you plan to?
  • Yes I got it. Having had the real flu once, it was enough to convince me I need the shot. I haven’t had the flu since.

  • Dessert
Approximately how many hours per week do you spend watching television?
  • 3. I hate TV. The quality of modern programs sucks; there is little original talent and idea. The news is almost always negative. SO I tune it all out. And keep the boob tube OFF 90% of the time.

    Friday Feast #169

Friday Feast is a weekly meme brought to us by Susan. The idea of this meme is to answer 5 questions about yourself, which Susan sends out each week. You leave a comment at the main site announcing your blog’s URL and participation, go visit AT LEAST 5 other Feasters and hopefully they will come by and read your feast and leave you a comment. It’s fun and a lot of people participate. Why don’t YOU??

  • Appetizer
What was your first “real” job?
A factory that makes man made metals- I worked in the dept where the ovens are. It was extremely hard work too- never mind hot and miserable.
  • Soup
Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity?
    Mt. Everest.
  • Salad
Complete this sentence: I am embarrassed when…
…When I say things without thinking first. I am very blunt and at times I hurt people’s feelings.
  • Main Course
What values did your parents instill in you?
Hard work is more honorable than accepting a free handout from the government.
Being self reliant is better than being dependent.
Family is more valuable than any job or career.
  • Dessert
Name 3 fads from your teenage years.
This is hard for me because my teen years weren’t average. I didn’t know of fads of those days, but I have read:
Puffy hair, punk rock bands, leggings….I dunno.

  • Appetizer
When was the last time you were surprised?
  • Surprised? This past week: Last week on Thursday I had my tonsils and adenoids removed. (Yea I’m a little OLD for that but…) Less than three days later I was eating, drinking and getting back to my normal self. I expected to be out of normalcy for a lot longer than that.

  • Soup
Fill in the blanks: My eyes are ________, but I wish they were __________.
  • Blue green- many call them GRAY. I wish they were just one color!

  • Salad
If you were a Beanie Baby, what would you look like and what would your name be?
  • A beanie BABY?? Oh come on!! I would be a little black bird. Named Raven.

  • Main Course
Name two things you consistently do that you consider to be healthy habits.
  • I work out 5 days a week. And not just any ole work out; I use machines and free weights; I do the elliptical for 45 minutes and then the stepper for another 45 minutes; I work hard and my muscles prove it. I’m stronger and have more endurance than most men. I also run just about every day too. Or roller blade. 10 miles or so.
The other thing I do is drink. Lots. Of. Water. Gallons. It really helps keep me balanced.

  • Dessert
What brand of toothpaste are you using these days? Do you like it? Why or why not?
  • I use Aquafresh. Always have and always will. I just like it and never get cavities.

    Appetizer
What is your favorite type of art?
MUSIC!! Pink Floyd and Heavy metal! Live. In my face.

    Soup
When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?
The other morning- a friend bought me breakfast at the local diner. Omelet, bacon, english muffin, homefries, coffee. YUMMAY!

    Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?
Hmm. I have to be honest huh? I’d give me a 6 or 7 at certain times of the month; the rest of the time I’m pretty even at a 5.

    Main Course
Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?
An hour. Which is TOO much time but, I treasure the friends I have made online and will not blow’em off!
At work- we don’t use email for normal communications. We tend to have more meetings, and the bosses are around 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and they share info live. Email is used for announcements only, for the most part. There are over 1000 people at my work, and perhaps on a busy day there are 5 emails that go out. My work has a policy about being on computers- and time wasted on them (and email in particular); bosses are not allowed to email people when a phone call will suffice; senior management discourages the use of email and directs the bosses to TALK in PERSON with people. It’s pretty good too- since they’re required to TALK more, they tend to be away from their desks more-out on the units seeing what really goes on. We peons like it.

    Dessert
To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?
In the middle of the winter, when it’s at it’s bitterest, my therm is set at 55. I HATE HOT air blowing, and I hate dry hot air even more. My bathroom has it’s own controls and I will push it up to 65 on the really COLD days. Never higher.
