I’ve been busy traveling the country again…this time was planned ahead and it’s for a family reunion. My nephew lives in Lakewood CO and he is hosting the gathering this year.

I took a lot of pictures of AZ when I was down there. I JUST HATED IT. The place SUUCKED big time; I couldn’t breathe, the air was so dry and gross; I had toooo many nosebleeds cause of that. The air was also dirty or something. I actually coughed up SAND!!! Never in my life have I felt so unhealthy. LOL, but I did like the Canyon the ONE day I decided I felt good enough to go…

I’m back home. A little earlier than planned, but for reasons I’ll explain later.
Greece was fun but…
Ithaka, the poem, and some pictures to go with it.
Hope your road is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you enter harbors you’re seeing for the first time;
And many harbors I did enter for the first time…

Ithaka. It’s the place to be.
As you set out for Ithaka
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
angry Poseidon-don’t be afraid of them:
you’ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
I haven’t run into any angry monsters and sea creatures; but I have seen some beautiful sunrises and sets; the bluest oceans and smoothest rocks ever.
Sunrise, this morning: View from my beach:

And the sunset, a few minutes ago:

MIA since Thursday afternoon, I’ve been.
And for what? I went hiking. Not just any old hike though…no…a bunch of friends, my daughters and their BF’s embarked the Presidential Traverse up in the White Mountains. An unguided tour…It was freakin awesome.

What does one do in Maine, on a hot sunny day in July or August? Besides going to the beach or sailing in the ocean, you can go blueberry picking. There are thousands of these fields up here…and the blueberries grow in abundance, uncultivated and wild-with no help from man. They are the best tasting berries- the wild ones.
And this morning, here’s what I did with some of the berries:

Yummy. Now to go make some of my own blueberry beer for later!!

Hazy. Hot. Humid. Even in Maine on the coast. Can you FEEL it??

Sit in reverie and watch the changing color of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I’ve been back and forth between NH and Maine this week- 6 times (and a TON of cash wasted on gas!)– moving from Wells to Old Orchard. And getting settled in for the next four weeks. After work Sunday, I’m heading back up with no plan to return to NH anytime soon.
There’s an amusement park here, with lots of fun rides and cotton candy.
My new home away from home- a fifth floor mini apartment-over looking the pier- this is where I’ll be living for the next four weeks:

Ahhhh..the bed….with that awesome window over it, that allows in the scents and sounds of the ocean:

and bathroom lol:

It’s not as quiet up here as it is in Wells. Many more people, rich people too. It’s a good thing I know where to hide out on the beach too or I’d go NUTS being around all these snotheads.

Ahh THE place to be when solitude is needed:

Trek a little further into the woods and we find this place:

…and this:

NOTHING is as awesome, though, as the mountains when they first see snow.
Mt. Lafayette:
