Appetizer
What is your favorite type of art?
MUSIC!! Pink Floyd and Heavy metal! Live. In my face.

Soup
When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?
The other morning- a friend bought me breakfast at the local diner. Omelet, bacon, english muffin, homefries, coffee. YUMMAY!

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?
Hmm. I have to be honest huh? I’d give me a 6 or 7 at certain times of the month; the rest of the time I’m pretty even at a 5.

Main Course
Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?
An hour. Which is TOO much time but, I treasure the friends I have made online and will not blow’em off!
At work- we don’t use email for normal communications. We tend to have more meetings, and the bosses are around 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and they share info live. Email is used for announcements only, for the most part. There are over 1000 people at my work, and perhaps on a busy day there are 5 emails that go out. My work has a policy about being on computers- and time wasted on them (and email in particular); bosses are not allowed to email people when a phone call will suffice; senior management discourages the use of email and directs the bosses to TALK in PERSON with people. It’s pretty good too- since they’re required to TALK more, they tend to be away from their desks more-out on the units seeing what really goes on. We peons like it.

Dessert
To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?
In the middle of the winter, when it’s at it’s bitterest, my therm is set at 55. I HATE HOT air blowing, and I hate dry hot air even more. My bathroom has it’s own controls and I will push it up to 65 on the really COLD days. Never higher.

MUSIC!! Preferably played by myself on piano, Hammond organ or guitar. Mainly rock and roll, but also a bit of classical, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and polkas. Tak, to prawda, ja kocham polki. (Yes, that’s right, I love polkas.)

A few months ago at work. Every once in a while, some of the bosses will bring in (at their expense) bagels, donuts, coffee and juices for us peons.

Most of the time about a 3 or 4. I’m generally pretty easygoing, but there are a few things that will set me off.

    Responding? Don’t you mean “deleting”?

Seriously, about 5 minutes at the most, for the ones I actually respond to.

To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?

78 in the warm months, 70 in the cooler months. I guess that last one is too warm to get the approval of the Internet’s creator.

What is your favorite type of art?

Music. I love alternative rock from the 90s, just about all classical, and some country. Heavy metal during times I am angry, working, and running. Poetry, painting and the rest.. nice to look at every now and then but not really into it.

When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?

I am going to exclude my parents and my inlaws since they pretty much by everytime we’re in town. With that, the last time I got lunch paid for was by an A&M alumnus at a College Station restaurant when me and my buddies flew into their to get some chow. Since we were in uniform, the guy was kind enough to pay for lunch to show his appreciation for our service. It was a very nice gesture.

    Politics - 8.5 to 9.
    My family - 9
Everything else, I’d go with around 6.

Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?

1-2 minutes. No body really emails me.
    Dessert

Appetizer: What is your favorite type of art?

Cartoons. Graphic imagery. Line art. Woodcuts. Simple, but elegant — the people’s art.

Soup: When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?

On the day of my Dad’s funeral — we found $40 he had squirreled away in a book, so he treated us posthumously to dinner.

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?

    2. I’m emotional like Mister Spock. Emotion is overrated. I think Soap Operas are the great destroyer of American culture.

Main Course: Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?

Thirty minutes or more. I have something like 4 or 5 e-mail accounts; plus I check my wife’s, too.

Dessert: To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?

It doesn’t matter. I never get hot or cold. I sleep without blankets or covers. If I had my druthers, it’s be 60 degrees (F) year-round, but I don’t, so I don’t worry about it.

And Raven & I are going to have to agree to disagree with the Dessert. I’m sitting on my balcony typing this with the warm South Texas wind blowing in off Corpus Christi Bay, and-loving-it!
